TalentSprint and IIT Kanpur team up for Cyber Security course

An Advanced Certification Program in Cyber Defense and Cyber Security will be offered by the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), in collaboration with TalentSprint.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Manindra Agrawal (Program Director and Professor of Computer Science at IIT Kanpur) announced that there will be around 200 billion connected devices by the year 2020.

He said that the rapid emergence of the Internet of Things, Cloud Computing and Mobility is leading to a fiery increase in security threats and therefore, the need for Cyber Defense experts is becoming all the more important to combat these threats.

This six-month program will cover the research capabilities of C3i to help the professionals with the proficiency to battle a wide range of appearing threats and vulnerabilities.

The Co-Founder and CEO of TalentSprint, Santanu Paul, said that the demand for experts had outrun the supply.

To defend against the increasing threat of cyberattacks, companies need sophisticated responders. He also said that there is a huge talent crisis and 59% of the companies have open positions which indicate a cumulative global shortfall of 1.5 million professionals.

The Cybersecurity market in India is expected to grow to $35 billion by 2025, according to Nasscom.
